Responding to the UK Government plans to boost the nuclear power industry with the Wylfa site under consideration, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Shadow Climate Change Minister, said:
“Whilst Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru are cutting the clean energy budget from £9.7 million to £2.8 million, the UK Conservative Government is ramping up support for nuclear energy.
“Nuclear is green, cheaper in the long term and will ensure our energy security for the long-term.
“North Wales has the sites and skills required for nuclear development, and thanks especially to Virginia Crosbie MP, Wylfa is in the running for major investment.”
