Responding to the UK Government budget, Janet Finch-Saunders MS has warned of the detrimental impact the budget will have on business growth.

Policies that cause concern to businesses include:

  • Increase in employers National Insurance
  • Reducing the secondary National Insurance threshold
  • Reform to agricultural property relief

Commenting on the Budget, Janet said:

“North Wales wasn’t mentioned once in the hour-long Budget which is now already haunting our region.

“No commitment on Wylfa.

“No commitment for a HS2 consequential for Wales.

“No commitment to improve the North Wales main line.

“A disastrous commitment to rake in money from hard working farming families, many of whom do not have the cash, and will have to sell land to meet the bill, putting the future of entire businesses that have been in families for generations at risk.

“A jobs tax that will harm businesses and employees and stifle growth, taking £25bn from employers through changes to National Insurance.

“The most devastating thing of all is that this Halloween budget needed not be so haunting. Indeed, the OBR has declined to back the Chancellor’s claim of a £20bn black hole, so the Budget did not need to be so severe”.

ENDS

Wrth ymateb i gyllideb Llywodraeth y DU, mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS wedi rhybuddio am yr effaith niweidiol y bydd y gyllideb yn ei chael ar dwf busnes.

Mae'r polisïau sy'n achosi pryder i fusnesau yn cynnwys:

  • Cynnydd yn Yswiriant Gwladol cyflogwyr
  • Lleihau'r trothwy Yswiriant Gwladol eilaidd
  • Diwygio rhyddhad eiddo amaethyddol

Wrth sôn am y Gyllideb, dywedodd Janet:

"Ni chrybwyllwyd Gogledd Cymru unwaith yn y Gyllideb awr o hyd, sydd eisoes yn taflu’i gysgod dros ein rhanbarth.

"Dim ymrwymiad ar Wylfa.

"Dim ymrwymiad i gyllid canlyniadol HS2 i Gymru.

"Dim ymrwymiad i wella prif reilffordd Gogledd Cymru.

"Ymrwymiad trychinebus i ddwyn arian gan deuluoedd ffermio sy'n gweithio'n galed, ac nad oes gan lawer ohonyn nhw’r arian, gan eu gorfodi i werthu tir i dalu’r biliau, gan beryglu dyfodol busnesau cyfan sydd wedi bod mewn teuluoedd ers cenedlaethau.

"Treth ar swyddi a fydd yn niweidio busnesau a gweithwyr ac yn mygu twf, gan gymryd £25 biliwn oddi ar gyflogwyr drwy newidiadau i’r Yswiriant Gwladol.

"Y peth mwyaf dinistriol oll yw nad oedd angen i'r gyllideb Calan Gaeaf hon fod mor ddychrynllyd. Yn wir, mae'r Swyddfa Cyfrifoldeb Cyllidebol wedi gwrthod cefnogi honiad y Canghellor o dwll du gwerth £20 biliwn, felly doedd dim angen i'r Gyllideb fod mor llym".
