Janet Finch-Saunders MS – the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – has undertaken a visit to the Kingdom Krafts Fair Trade Centre in Llandudno. The visit by Mrs Finch-Saunders came as part of her business tour of the constituency, having previously visited local enterprises in Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed.
The Kingdom Krafts Fair Trade Centre has been operating since 2002. Two local churches in Llandudno, the Emmanuel Christian Centre and the Gloddaeth United Church, partner in facilitating the shop function and growth. There are two part-time managers, as well as a handful of volunteers, making up the team.
Commenting on her visit, Janet said:
“It was a real pleasure to visit the friendly and welcoming ladies at the Kingdom Kraft Fair Trade Centre in Llandudno, whose enterprise stands as a real beacon of good will, as they continue to support the empowerment of those living in poverty. The fact that their marvellous store is full of tempting treats is also a real bonus.
“Moreover, Kingdom Kraft is a brilliant example of how local enterprises have come to develop and flourish throughout challenging economic periods, having diversified from the sale of Christian literature, to now stocking a wide range of Fair Trade food, gifts, clothing, stationery and household goods.
“I heartily encourage the residents of Aberconwy to continue to support local businesses such as the Kingdom Kraft Fair Trade Centre, as we continue to play our essential role in ensuring the survival of the high street.
“I’m assured that a cup of Fair Trade tea or coffee, along with a delicious home-baked cake, is on hand while you peruse the items on sale. You may even find that stocking filler that you've been looking for!”
