UK Highways A55 Limited has announced that traffic management with temporary traffic lights will be in place on the Menai Suspension Bridge from 07:30 on Thursday 27 November.
The traffic lights will operate between 07:30 and 17:00 on 27 and 28 November, and from 1 to 3 December. However, the traffic management will not be in place over the weekend.
Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, commented:
“I appreciate the advance notice of the works taking place on the bridge. This is to enable preliminary works to be carried out ahead of the future installation of a permanent fix for the crossbeam issue previously identified.
“While it is essential that these works are completed on the bridge, I am still concerned about the impact this will have on the levels of traffic and congestion to and from Ynys Môn.
“Whilst Menai Bridge is being repaired, work should also be starting on a third Menai crossing.”
