113 million tonnes of carbon is stored in the top 10cm of marine sediments in Wales. According to NRW that represents almost 170% of the carbon held by Welsh forests.
A square meter of seagrass captures triple the amount of the equivalent from a rainforest and ten times the amount from grasslands.
We must do more to take advantage on this opportunity, especially when the Welsh Labour Government are so keen to use 10% of our farmers land.
