Questions to answer over chief exec pay-off
Commenting on the £330,000 pay-off received by Pembrokeshire Council’s chief executive – and the Wales Audit Office’s decision to examine the details – Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Local Government, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, said:
“A council pay-off 15 times the average Welsh salary won’t go away quietly.
“The huge amounts of public money involved in this case will be rightly questioned by taxpayers for a long time to come.
“At a time when councils right across Wales are struggling to cope with Labour’s tough local authority settlement, this pay-off beggars belief.
“It is no surprise that the Wales Audit Office is now examining the details. I look forward to their conclusions.”
