This is a positive step forward and I am pleased that the officers and members are actually listening to the many arguments put forward by the group and others, as to the importance of our beach in Llandudno and have now agreed to set up a forum with a view to coming up with some kind of a plan, however I wouldn’t like to see this group set up to fail so the authority needs to be looking at some of the fundamentals in bringing a forthcoming scheme to fruition in terms of seeking the relevant funding..
The authority must address the issue that we currently have a beach that is largely inaccessible to the young, elderly and those even with a minor disability and that these works were carried out in such a hurried manner, without consultation and elected member involvement.
The Assistant Auditor General Mr Anthony Barratt is currently looking into the processes used at the time as is the Council Auditors KPMG.
Transparency, Financial Probity and Democratic Accountability is a must when making significant decisions of this nature.
