Local Assembly Member, Janet Finch-Saunders attended the Adult Learners’ Week event in Conwy Library, one of over 800 celebrating Wales’s largest and longest running learning campaign.
Organised by NIACE Cymru, it encourages thousands of adults, whatever their background or age, to give learning a go. The value of adult education is clear, with benefits to both society and the economy.
Janet Finch-Saunders said: “It is impossible to overstate the importance of education. It need not, and should not, end when a person leaves school.”
“Adult Learners’ Week is a fantastic campaign, and the event in Conwy Library highlighted the sheer variety of new skills that adults can learn, from numeracy and literacy, through to ICT.”
“I would like to thank NIACE Cymru and Conwy Library for putting on the well-run event, and feel it was great that so many people attended.”
