Freeport

The Anglesey Freeport team, which is a partnership between Stena Line and Isle of Anglesey County Council (IACC), has recently been praised and thanked for their work to achieve approval of the Full Business Case by the UK and Welsh governments.

With both business cases approved, all required approvals are now in place, with the Freeport able to transition to its delivery phase. The approval of the Full Business Case will unlock £25m in Government seed capital, enabling the establishment of the Freeport as a business entity.

Praising the Freeport team, Janet said:

“All the team behind the Anglesey Freeport should be extremely proud that their full business case has been approved by both governments.

“The delivery of this Conservative policy is taking the island on a transformational journey. For example,  the proposals are forecast to generate up to £578m of growth in the local economy each year, the equivalent of a third of Anglesey’s current economy, and create around 1,200 jobs.

“We need more jobs for local people. The team behind the Freeport are delivering exactly that. Well done!”

ENDS

Mae tîm Porthladd Rhydd Ynys Môn, sy'n bartneriaeth rhwng Stena Line a Chyngor Sir Ynys Môn (IACC), wedi cael ei ganmol yn ddiweddar am ei waith yn sicrhau cymeradwyaeth i’r Achos Busnes Llawn gan lywodraethau'r DU a Chymru.

Gyda'r ddau achos busnes wedi'u cymeradwyo, mae pob cymeradwyaeth ofynnol bellach yn eu lle, gyda'r Porthladd Rhydd yn gallu symud ymlaen i'w gyfnod cyflwyno. Bydd cymeradwyo'r Achos Busnes Llawn yn datgloi £25m o gyfalaf cychwynnol y Llywodraeth, gan olygu bod modd sefydlu'r Porthladd Rhydd fel endid busnes.

Wrth ganmol y Porthladd Rhydd, dywedodd Janet:

"Dylai'r holl dîm y tu ôl i Borthladd Rhydd Ynys Môn fod yn hynod falch bod eu hachos busnes llawn wedi'i gymeradwyo gan y ddwy lywodraeth.

"Mae cyflawni polisi’r Ceidwadwyr yn mynd â'r ynys ar daith drawsnewidiol. Er enghraifft, rhagwelir y bydd y cynigion yn cynhyrchu hyd at £578m o dwf yn yr economi leol bob blwyddyn, sy'n cyfateb i draean o economi bresennol Ynys Môn, ac yn creu tua 1,200 o swyddi.

"Mae angen mwy o swyddi arnom i bobl leol. Mae'r tîm y tu ôl i'r Porthladd Rhydd yn cyflawni hynny. Da iawn!"
