FINCH-SAUNDERS: People need to have their say over planning in Llanrwst
Over 200 people attended a public meeting in Llanrwst called by Cllr Janet Finch-Saunders AM yesterday evening. The meeting was attended by the Leader of CCBC, representatives of the Authority and local councillors. Janet said:
“The primary motive for this public meeting was to bring the community together so that they can have their say on the future of Llanrwst.
“There has been a lot of uncertainty and hearsay with regards to potential developments in Llanrwst in recent months and I wanted to bring together all key members of the community in order to clear the air and start an informed dialogue. Concerns were also raised about lack of information, and consultation and I hope that this meeting will go some way to resolve these concerns.
“I am a firm believer in people power, and the message is simple, if a developer and CCBC should formalise an agreement consisting of a planning application then the community must be informed and allowed to engage and contribute at every stage of the planning process.
“The Council has made assurances that the proper consultation process will be undergone every step of the way, starting at the pre-planning stage and I will be working with the community to represent them at all times.”

Fe wnaeth dros 200 o bobl fynychu cyfarfod cyhoeddus yn Llanrwst a gafodd ei alw gan Cyng. Janet Finch-Saunders AC neithiwr. Roedd arweinydd CBSC, cynrychiolwyr yr Awdurdod a chynghorwyr lleol hefyd yn bresennol. Dywedodd Janet:
“Y cymhelliad cynradd ar gyfer cyfarfod cyhoeddus oedd dod a’r gymuned at ei gilydd fel y gallant gael dweud eu dweud ar ddyfodol Llanrwst.
“Bu llawer o ansicrwydd a gwybodaeth ail-law mewn perthynas â’r datblygiadau posibl yn Llanrwst yn ystod y misoedd diwethaf ac roeddwn i eisiau dod â holl aelodau allweddol y gymuned at ei gilydd er mwyn clirio'r aer a dechrau deialog gwybodus. Mynegwyd pryderon hefyd ynglŷn â diffyg gwybodaeth, ac ymgynghori a gobeithiaf y bydd y cyfarfod hwn yn mynd peth ffordd tuag at ddatrys y pryderon hyn.
“Rwy'n credu'n gryf mewn grym pobl, ac mae'r neges yn syml, os dylai datblygwr a CBSC ffurfioli cytundeb yn cynnwys cais cynllunio yna mae'n rhaid i'r gymuned cael eu hysbysu, eu hymgysylltu er mwyn cyfrannu ar bob cam o'r broses gynllunio.
“Mae'r Cyngor wedi addo y bydd y broses ymgynghori briodol yn digwydd ar bob cam o'r ffordd, gan ddechrau ar y cam cyd-gynllunio ac mi fyddaf yn gweithio gyda'r gymuned i’w cynrychioli bob amser."
