Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has congratulated Jack Sargeant, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Alyn and Deeside, on his cavalier King Charles spaniel, Coco, being crowned Welsh Parliament dog of the year.

Coco was up against:

  • Jane Dodds MS and greyhound Wanda
  • James Evans MS and cocker spaniel Bonnie
  • Darren Millar MS and whippet Blue
  • Janet and Welsh collie Alfie

Speaking following the award ceremony today, Janet said:

“All dogs in the competition are winners.  They have captured the nation’s heart and helped raise awareness of the excellent work undertaken by the Dogs Trust and The Kennel Club.

“I wish to congratulate Jack and Coco on their success. There is no doubt that they have a unique bond, and as such I am happy to see them succeeded.

“Our Welsh collie, Alfie, will now be heading home with me to Aberconwy, where he will continue to frequent the office, go swimming in the sea, play with my grandson, and remain a champion in my eyes”.

Roedd Coco yn cystadlu yn erbyn:

  • Jane Dodds A a’i Milgi, Wanda
  • James Evans A a’i Sbaengi Adara, Bonnie
  • Darren Millar A, a’i Gorfilgi, Blue
  • Janet a’i Chi Defaid Cymreig, Alfie

Wrth siarad ar ôl y seremoni wobrwyo heddiw, meddai Janet:

“Mae pob ci yn y gystadleuaeth wedi ennill. Mae’r genedl wedi gwirioni arnyn nhw, ac maen nhw wedi helpu i godi ymwybyddiaeth o waith rhagorol y Dogs Trust a’r Kennel Club.

“Dwi eisiau llongyfarch Jack a Coco ar eu llwyddiant. Does dim amheuaeth bod yna gwlwm unigryw rhyngddyn nhw, ac felly mae’n dda eu gweld nhw’n llwyddo.

“Bydd ein Ci Defaid Cymreig, Alfie, yn mynd adref gyda mi i Aberconwy, lle bydd yn parhau i fynd i’r swyddfa, nofio yn y môr, chwarae gyda fy ŵyr, a dod â hapusrwydd i ni bob dydd”.
