Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Senedd for Bangor, Conwy and Môn, is encouraging constituents to sign up to the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s Text Reminder Service.
This will enable people to receive all of the details about the appointment that they need, including appointment type, date, time, location and department. This will ensure that people do not miss their appointments, due to delays in post delivery.
With many patients already facing long waits for treatment or their first appointment, it is vital that people receive their appointment details as quickly and reliably as possible. This will also provide greater reassurance and reducing the stress that many constituents are facing.
Janet commented:
“Many of my constituents have contacted me after missing appointments because the letter confirming their appointment did not arrive in time. When people have already waited so long to receive treatment, it is incredibly frustrating and stressful to then miss an appointment because of a delay in the post.
“ I strongly encourage constituents to sign up to this service, which is a simple way of making sure they have their appointment details immediately and can access them whenever they need them. This could help remove some of the unnecessary stress people are already feeling while waiting for an appointment or treatment.”
