Janet Finch-Saunders MS has written to the Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, Adam Price MS, calling for the concerns of local residents to be fully considered following proposals to construct wind turbines on Mynydd Tryfan.

The proposed development has generated significant concerns among local communities, with residents raising issues including the visual impact on the landscape, potential noise, the effect on nearby homes and farms, and the planning process. In the letter, Janet Finch-Saunders has asked the Welsh Government to outline how these concerns will be taken into account and to ensure that local people are properly listened to throughout the decision-making process.

Furthermore, residents in surrounding communities, including Llansannan and Llanfair Talhaiarn, have also raised their concerns with further developments being proposed that would effect even more rural communities.

Janet Finch-Saunders, Senedd Member for Bangor Conwy Môn said:

“I have been contacted by many residents who are deeply concerned about these proposals, and I believe it is important that their voices are heard. While renewable energy has an important role to play in helping Wales meet its environmental ambitions, that should not come at the expense of local communities or our unique rural landscape.

Many residents feel that they are facing wave after wave of major infrastructure proposals. Communities such as Llansannan and Llanfair Talhaiarn are already concerned about the impact of Mynydd Tryfan and other proposed developments, and it is only right that the cumulative effect on our rural areas is properly assessed rather that considering each application in isolation.

This is why I have I have written to the Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, Adam Price MS, seeking assurances that residents’ concerns will be fully considered as part of the planning process. We must strike the right balance between delivering renewable energy and protecting the character of our countryside and ensuring that local people have confidence that their views genuinely matter.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS wedi ysgrifennu at Weinidog y Cabinet dros Fenter, Cysylltedd ac Ynni, Adam Price AS, ac wedi galw am i’r llywodraeth ystyried pryderon trigolion lleol yn llawn yn dilyn cynigion i adeiladu tyrbinau gwynt ar Fynydd Tryfan.

Mae'r datblygiad arfaethedig wedi creu pryderon sylweddol ymhlith cymunedau lleol, gyda thrigolion yn codi materion gan gynnwys yr effaith weledol ar y dirwedd, sŵn posibl, yr effaith ar gartrefi a ffermydd cyfagos, a'r broses gynllunio. Yn ei llythyr, mae Janet Finch-Saunders wedi gofyn ar i Lywodraeth Cymru amlinellu sut y bydd y pryderon hyn yn cael eu hystyried, gan sicrhau bod lleisiau pobl leol yn cael pob chwarae teg gydol y broses o wneud penderfyniadau.

Ar ben hynny, mae trigolion cymunedau cyfagos, gan gynnwys Llansannan a Llanfair Talhaearn, hefyd wedi codi eu pryderon am ddatblygiadau pellach sy’n cael eu cynnig a fyddai'n effeithio ar fwy o gymunedau gwledig nag erioed.

Meddai Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o'r Senedd Bangor Conwy Môn:

"Mae llawer o drigolion wedi cysylltu â mi sy’n bryderus iawn am y cynigion hyn, ac rwy'n credu ei bod yn bwysig bod eu lleisiau’n cael eu clywed. Er bod gan ynni adnewyddadwy rôl bwysig i'w chwarae wrth helpu Cymru i gyflawni ei huchelgeisiau amgylcheddol, ni ddylai hynny ddod ar draul cymunedau lleol na'n tirwedd wledig unigryw.

Mae llawer o drigolion yn teimlo eu bod yn wynebu ton ar ôl ton o gynigion seilwaith mawr. Mae cymunedau fel Llansannan a Llanfair Talhaearn eisoes yn poeni am effaith Mynydd Tryfan a datblygiadau arfaethedig eraill, ac mae'n iawn bod yr effaith gronnol ar ein hardaloedd gwledig yn cael ei hasesu'n briodol yn hytrach na bod pob cais yn cael ei ystyried yn annibynnol.

Dyna pam fy mod wedi ysgrifennu at y Gweinidog Cabinet dros Fenter, Cysylltedd ac Ynni, Adam Price AS, yn gofyn am sicrwydd y bydd pryderon trigolion yn cael eu hystyried yn llawn fel rhan o'r broses gynllunio. Rhaid i ni daro'r cydbwysedd cywir rhwng darparu ynni adnewyddadwy a diogelu cymeriad ein cefn gwlad a sicrhau bod pobl leol yn hyderus bod eu barn o bwys go iawn.”
