Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Bangor Conwy Môn, highlighted on ITV Wales’ Sharp End that both the new UK Labour Government under Andy Burnham and the new Plaid Cymru Welsh Government offer more of the same.
Janet commented:
“Wales has been significantly negatively impacted over the last 27 years by the policies and failings of the Welsh Labour Government, which were backed by Plaid Cymru. Instead of the change that we were promised, the new Plaid Government is instead focused on pursuing further constitutional change and devolution, rather than focusing on the real challenges that the people of Wales are facing.
She continued:
“Yet, even at the UK level, we are seeing more of the same with Andy Burnham. Instead of focusing on strengthening the economy, Labour seems focused on increasing taxes to support the welfare state.
Janet added:
“Instead of focusing on getting more people onto the employment ladder, improving our healthcare service, supporting our education system, and building the economy, Labour and Plaid are both prioritising their own ideological goals.
Janet concluded:
“It is vital that the priorities are firmly changed to address the issues that impact the Welsh public every day.”
