All at the National Coastwatch Institution Llandudno have been praised for their amazing work to secure a new Watch Station for West Shore.
The lookout station began operations as NCI Great Orme in August 2019. Housed in one of the NCI's trailer-mounted mobile units, it was relocated in August 2020. The team had been looking to move into more permanent residence, and applied for grants and planning permission to make this a reality.
The new Station has been delivered and carefully placed on its new footings next to the Dale Road car park on West Shore. It provides much needed space and will enable the team to offer greater water safety support to locals and visitors alike.
Commenting on the new NCI Llandudno Watch Station, Janet said:
“Llandudno NCI make a genuinely invaluable contribution to the safety of fisherman, sailors and tourists.
“In addition to thanking all the team for their amazing service, I cannot applaud them enough for their fantastic work to secure a new Watch Station.
“I know well the effort they have put in to raise funds, and the challenges faced with securing planning permission, but they have done it. They should be very proud”.
