Clare’s Department Store, Mostyn Street, Llandudno, is being celebrated by local Member of the Welsh Parliament, Janet Finch-Saunders, for exceptional contribution to the economy and community.

Llandudno’s most famous shop was established in 1927. Almost a hundred years later the store continues to serve locals and visitors by managing to balance its traditional heritage values with a range of premium brands.

The core values have and always will be the customer first. The care the team at the store shows to the community is also apparent from their decision to make Conwy Mind their charity of the year. It is an independent, local charity with over 35 years experience of supporting better mental health and wellbeing across Conwy County.

Speaking after visiting Clare’s, Janet said:

“I would like to thank everyone who has been part of Clare’s incredible 100 year journey.  Their efforts have seen the store capture the hearts of locals and visitors.

“Since my childhood I have been visiting the shop.  I used to delight in riding in the old fashioned lift, watching the milliners creating beautiful headwear, and I still enjoy pouring through the stylish selection of clothes on sale.

“Businesses like Clare’s on our high street help ensure that the town retains its unique charm”.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd lleol, wedi bod yn dathlu cyfraniad eithriadol Siop Adrannol Clare's, Stryd Mostyn, Llandudno, i'r economi a'r gymuned.

Sefydlwyd siop enwocaf Llandudno ym 1927. Bron i gan mlynedd yn ddiweddarach, mae'r siop yn parhau i wasanaethu pobl leol ac ymwelwyr gan daro’r cydbwysedd iawn rhwng ei gwerthoedd treftadaeth traddodiadol ag amrywiaeth o frandiau premiwm.

Gwerth craidd y siop oedd rhoi’r cwsmer yn gyntaf a dyna fydd y gwerth craidd am byth. Mae'r gofal y mae'r tîm yn y siop yn ei ddangos i'r gymuned yn amlwg hefyd yn dilyn eu penderfyniad i wneud Mind Conwy yn elusen y flwyddyn. Mae'n elusen annibynnol a lleol sydd â 35 mlynedd a mwy o brofiad o gefnogi gwell iechyd meddwl a lles ar hyd a lled Sir Conwy.

Ar ôl ymweld â Clare's, dywedodd Janet:

“Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi bod yn rhan o daith anhygoel canmlwyddiant Clare's. Oherwydd eu hymdrechion, mae gan y siop le cynnes yng nghalonnau pobl leol ac ymwelwyr.

“Rydw i wedi bod yn ymweld â'r siop ers fy mhlentyndod. Roeddwn i'n arfer bod wrth fy modd yn cael mynd yn y lifft hen ffasiwn, gan wylio'r gwneuthurwr hetiau yn creu penwisgoedd hardd, ac rwy'n dal i fwynhau edrych drwy'r detholiad llawn steil o ddillad sydd ar werth.

“Mae busnesau fel Clare's ar ein stryd fawr yn helpu i sicrhau bod y dref yn cadw ei swyn unigryw”.
