Keep Wales Tidy has removed 1,088 bags of rubbish from 135 locations in Conwy. This represents 5,440 kilograms of litter from the environment.
The Keep Wales Tidy volunteers have dedicated 3,895 hours to helping their local environment which is worth £38,950 to the Welsh economy.
Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, was shocked to learn about the amount of litter that has been collected in Conwy County.
Commenting on the litter collected by Keep Wales Tidy volunteers Janet said:
“I would like to thank the volunteers that have dedicated 3,895 hours to collecting litter from around Conwy County.
“It is shocking that from March to September 2024, 1,088 bags of rubbish have been removed. I have long called for stronger action to be taken towards clamping down on littering and fly-tipping.
“Whilst I will continue to champion changes in the Welsh Parliament to try and reduce the throw away culture in Wales, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who volunteers to clear rubbish. From Capel Curig to Conwy town, we are fortunate to have green champions across Aberconwy.”
