Janet Finch-Saunders AM hosted a talk by the Director of BT Wales last week for local businesses to learn about new technologies to improve their broadband services.
Janet said: "I was shocked to learn how far Aberconwy is lagging behind the rest of the UK with regards to broadband speeds and capabilities.
"The average speed for UK broadband is 7.6MB, yet my constituents receive much less, with a maximum, it seems, of 3MB and some reporting speeds of as little as 0.6MB. Many rural areas have reported having no access at all!
"Whilst some areas of Wales are set to receive 20MB speeds through the super-fast next generation broadband rollouts, it is most disappointing that with the current infrastructure set-up, Aberconwy cannot hope to get this kind of service.
"It is vital that, to boost our economy through business and tourism here in Aberconwy, we get the same high quality, super fast, next generation broadband."

Dywedodd Janet: "Cefais fy synnu i ddysgu pa mor bell ar ei hôl gweddill y DU yw Aberconwy o ran cyflymder band eang.
"Cyflymder cyfartalog ar gyfer band eang yn y DU yw 7.6MB, ond mae llawer o etholwyr yn cael llawer llai, gydag uchafswm, mae'n ymddangos, o 3MB a rhai cyflymderau cyn lleied â 0.6Mb. Yn waeth na hynny nid oes llawer o ardaloedd gwledig unrhyw fynediad o gwbl!
"Er bod rhai ardaloedd o Gymru yn mynd i dderbyn cyflymder 20MB trwy'r cyflwyniad o gymhwyster band eang y genhedlaeth nesaf, mae'n siomedig bod y cynlluniau presennol i ddiweddaru’r seilwaith yn anwybyddu Aberconwy yn gyfan gwbl.
"Mae'n hanfodol ein bod ni’n rhoi hwb i'n heconomi trwy fusnes a thwristiaeth yma yn Aberconwy, trwy sicrhau y bydd yr etholaeth hefyd yn cael band-eang y genhedlaeth nesaf o ansawdd uchel."
