Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy has visited the newly transformed Caer Rhun Hall in Conwy.

Situated in the rolling hills of Snowdonia the Grade II listed Victorian Manor House of Caer Rhun has been renovated into an idyllic getaway for those wishing to retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The building itself has a great historic pedigree and is situated next to the Roman fort of Canovium. It was this fort that after the end of Roman rule in Britain became associated with Kind Rhun Hir of Gwynedd, hence its name. It is also just north of Cadair Ifan Goch, a crag that according to legend is where Ifan Goch the Giant stood with one foot on the Cadair Ifan Goch side of the valley, and the other on the Pen-y-Gaer side in order to take a drink of water from the river.

Expressing her delight, Janet said:

“It is absolutely wonderful to see the beautiful revitalisation to such a historic and charming place in Conwy. We are extremely lucky to have such an elegant and tasteful retreat in our community and I would encourage anyone to go an experience the splendour of Caer Rhun Hall.

“I am extremely pleased to see the investment in the local area and I thank those at Caer Rhun Hall for looking after me so well. I wish them well for the future and look forward to returning as soon as possible.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi ymweld â gwesty Caer Rhun yng Nghonwy sydd wedi’i drawsnewid yn ddiweddar.

Wedi’i leoli ym mryniau Eryri, mae Plasty Fictoraidd rhestredig Gradd II Caer Rhun wedi’i adnewyddu i fod yn lleoliad delfrydol i’r rhai sydd am gilio o fwrlwm bywyd.

Mae gan yr adeilad ei hun hanes gwych ac mae wedi’i leoli nesaf at gaer Rufeinig Canovium. Ar ôl i deyrnasiad y Rhufeiniaid ddod i ben ym Mhrydain daeth y gaer hon yn gysylltiedig â Brenin Rhun Hir o Wynedd, sy’n egluro’r enw. Mae hefyd wedi’i leoli ychydig i’r gogledd o Gadair Ifan Goch, craig yn ôl y chwedl y safodd Ifan Goch y Cawr arni gydag un droed ar ochr Cadair Ifan Goch y dyffryn, a’r llall ar ochr Pen-y-Gaer er mwyn yfed dŵr o’r afon.

Gan fynegi ei llawenydd, meddai Janet:

“Mae’n wych iawn gweld lle mor hanesyddol a hudolus yng Nghonwy yn cael ei adfywio mewn modd mor ysblennydd. Rydym yn lwcus iawn o gael gwesty mor gain a chwaethus yn ein cymuned a byddwn yn annog pawb i fynd i brofi ysblander Caer Rhun.

“Rwy’n falch iawn o weld y buddsoddiad yn yr ardal ac yn diolch i staff Caer Rhun am ofalu amdana i gystal. Rwy’n dymuno’n dda iddyn nhw yn y dyfodol ac yn edrych ymlaen at ddychwelyd cyn gynted â phosibl.
