Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod Senedd Cymru dros Aberconwy, wedi croesawu penderfyniad Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy a SP Energy i ohirio cau’r brif ffordd i Benmachno, y B4406 am 5 diwrnod.
Ar ôl cael gwybod am y cynllun i gau’r ffordd am 5 diwrnod, anfonodd Mrs Finch-Saunders lythyr brys at Rhun ap Gareth, Prif Weithredwr.
Wrth wneud sylw ar y gohirio, dywedodd Janet:
“Hoffwn ddiolch i drigolion Penmachno a Chwm Penmachno sydd, yn gwbl ddealladwy, wedi codi pryderon difrifol am y bwriad i gau’r B4406.
“Mae disgwyl i drigolion ddefnyddio’r ffordd serth a chul dros y Migneint, a gwneud gwyriad anferth i Ddyffryn Conwy drwy Flaenau Ffestiniog neu Ysbyty Ifan yn afresymol.
“Mae’n annerbyniol bod penderfyniad o’r maint hwn wedi’i wneud heb unrhyw rybudd ymlaen llaw nac ymgynghori â’r trigolion lleol a rhanddeiliaid, felly ysgrifennais at Brif Weithredwr yr Awdurdod Lleol.
“Rwy’n falch bod trafodaethau’n cael eu cynnal nawr rhwng SP Energy a Chyngor Cymuned Bro Machno”.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has welcomed the decision by Conwy County Borough Council and SP Energy to postpone the 5 day closure of the main road into Penmachno: B4406
Having been informed of the plan to close the road for 5 days, Mrs Finch-Saunders sent an urgent letter to Rhun ap Gareth, Chief Executive.
Commenting on the postponement, Janet said:
“I would like to thank residents in Penmachno and Cwm Penmachno who have rightly raised serious concerns about the planned closure of the B4406.
“To expect residents to use the steep and narrow road over the Migneint, and make a massive detour to the Conwy Valley via Blaenau Ffestiniog or Ysbyty Ifan is unreasonable.
“It is unacceptable that a decision of this magnitude was made without any prior notice or consultation with the local residents and stakeholders, so I wrote to the Chief Executive of the Local Authority.
“I am pleased that discussions are now being held between SP Energy and Bro Machno Community Council”.
