The Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy and the Shadow Minister for Climate Change – Janet Finch-Saunders MS – has spoken of her support for the UK's biggest nature challenge, 30 Days Wild. The initiative is The Wildlife Trusts' annual nature challenge in which they ask people to do one 'wild' thing a day, every day, throughout the month of June.

Commenting on the need to promote engagement with nature, Janet said:

“In a year when global leaders will be coming together to discuss proposals to protect and promote biodiversity, the 30 Days Wild initiative is a perfect way to capture this progress closer to home. From hanging bird feeders to building a hedgehog home, there are lots of little steps that we can all take to encourage and protect our local wildlife.

“It’s been scientifically proven that connecting with nature provides new opportunities to relieve stress and improve our mood, increase productivity and bring people together. This means that the activities undertaken for 30 Days Wild will not only benefit our planet, but also our well-being.

“Throughout the month of June, I’ll be encouraging local residents to carry out a daily Random Act of Wildness. By concentrating minds through this wonderful initiative, I hope beneficial actions to promote biodiversity will then continue throughout the year. Please do get involved!”
