Dolgarrog

On 2 November 2025 the Dolgarrog 100 event, marking the anniversary of the 1925 Dolgarrog Dam Disaster took place across the community.

The Community Council, local businesses, and residents worked tirelessly to make this notable event a special day.

Events included an historical exhibition which told the story of the disaster and its aftermath, a parade, and service of remembrance.

Commenting on the anniversary, Janet said:

“I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in ensuring that this anniversary of the dam disaster was remembered in such a special way.

“There are new musical compositions, poetry, a lantern parade, and much more.

“Most importantly, whilst Dolgarrog 100 rightly helped us all to remember the tragedy the community has faced, it also reflected resilience and hope for the future.”

Ar 2 Tachwedd 2025, cynhaliwyd digwyddiad Dolgarrog 100, i nodi can mlynedd ers Trychineb Argae Dolgarrog ym 1925, ar draws y gymuned.

Gweithiodd y Cyngor Cymuned, busnesau lleol a thrigolion yn ddiflino i wneud y digwyddiad nodedig hwn yn ddiwrnod arbennig.

Roedd y digwyddiadau yn cynnwys arddangosfa hanesyddol a oedd yn adrodd hanes y drychineb a'i chanlyniadau, gorymdaith a gwasanaeth coffa.

Wrth sôn am y digwyddiad, dywedodd Janet:

"Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi cyfrannu at sicrhau bod Trychineb Argae Dolgarrog yn cael ei gofio mewn ffordd mor arbennig.

"Mae yna gyfansoddiadau cerddorol newydd, barddoniaeth, gorymdaith llusernau a llawer mwy.

"Yn bwysicaf oll, er bod Dolgarrog 100 wedi ein helpu ni i gyd i gofio'r drasiedi, roedd hefyd yn adlewyrchu gwydnwch a gobaith ar gyfer y dyfodol."
