The Welsh Government have launched a Climate Conversations Fund, that will enable people to hold their own discussions on climate change. With the aim of the events exploring a set of questions provided by the Welsh Government.
However, priority will be given to those from marginalised backgrounds such as ethnic minorities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people in precarious living situations. Whilst it is important to learn about the impacts of climate change from all groups of society, this is being brought forward at a time where the Welsh NHS, and education in Wales is struggling. This is funding that should have been directed into those areas.
Commenting on the Climate Conversations Fund, Janet said:
“While we must have conversations about our environment, and climate, these discussions should be taking place across the whole of society, with no priorities being given.
“However, this allocation for this fund should be redirected back into the Welsh NHS, education, and the Welsh economy. As it should be a priority to address these struggling areas. Wales needs more nurses, doctors, and teachers. This unfortunately, is just another example of Welsh Labour having the priorities wrong, and Welsh Government waste spending”.

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi lansio Cronfa Sgyrsiau am yr Hinsawdd, a fydd yn galluogi pobl i gynnal eu trafodaethau eu hunain ar newid hinsawdd. Nod y digwyddiadau fydd archwilio cyfres o gwestiynau a ddarperir gan Lywodraeth Cymru.
Fodd bynnag, rhoddir blaenoriaeth i'r rhai o gefndiroedd ymylol fel lleiafrifoedd ethnig, unigolion LHDTCRhA+ a phobl mewn sefyllfaoedd byw ansicr. Er ei bod yn bwysig dysgu am effeithiau newid hinsawdd gan bob grŵp mewn cymdeithas, mae hyn yn cael ei gyflwyno ar adeg lle mae GIG Cymru ac addysg yng Nghymru mewn dyfroedd dyfnion. Mae hwn yn gyllid a ddylai fod wedi cael ei gyfeirio at y meysydd hynny.
Wrth sôn am y Gronfa Sgyrsiau am yr Hinsawdd, dywedodd Janet:
"Er bod rhaid i ni gael sgyrsiau am ein hamgylchedd a'n hinsawdd, dylai'r trafodaethau hyn fod yn digwydd ar draws y gymdeithas gyfan, heb unrhyw flaenoriaethau.
"Fodd bynnag, dylid ailgyfeirio'r dyraniad hwn ar gyfer y gronfa hon yn ôl i GIG Cymru, addysg ac economi Cymru, gan y dylid rhoi blaenoriaeth i fynd i'r afael â'r meysydd hyn sy'n cael trafferth. Mae angen mwy o nyrsys, meddygon ac athrawon ar Gymru. Yn anffodus, mae hyn yn enghraifft arall o Lafur Cymru yn cael ei blaenoriaethau yn anghywir, a gwariant gwastraffus Llywodraeth Cymru".
