As schools, businesses, community groups, and public representatives across Wales take part in this year’s Children in Need, the campaign highlights the continued importance of supporting vulnerable children and young people.
Children and families throughout the country continue to face a range of challenges, from financial hardship and health difficulties to limited access to essential services. Ensuring that these children receive the right support at the right time should remain a key priority.
Across Wales, a wide range of organisations work year-round to provide vital assistance — including mental health support, disability services, family programmes, and inclusive education initiatives. These efforts play an essential role in helping children overcome barriers, build confidence, and access opportunities that every young person deserves.
Children in Need campaigns serve as an important reminder of the collective impact that communities can have when they come together. Fundraising events, volunteering, and continued public awareness all contribute to strengthening the safety nets that support children and families facing difficulties.
Janet commented:
“Children in Need is a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to ensure every child has the support, security, and opportunity they deserve.
Across Wales, we see incredible commitment from schools, businesses, charities, and community groups — and it’s this collective effort that truly makes a difference. Supporting vulnerable children isn’t just an act of kindness; it’s an investment in the future of our communities and our nation.
Thank you to all the parents, schools, fundraisers and businesses making the effort today in supporting this important cause.”
