Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is delighted to see that the charity Contact Cymru will receive nearly half a million pounds to fund new projects.
Contact, the charity for families with disabled children, has been awarded £498,712 from the from the National Lottery Community Fund to launch a new three-year ‘Building Resilience’ project across Wales.
The charities core mission is to ensure that parent carers receive the guidance they need on their rights and entitlements. This will be accomplished by offering a bilingual digital platform through the web and social media, along with the development of accessible bilingual information resources.
Commenting on the news, Janet said:
“This is absolutely wonderful news. This charity, like many in Wales, does absolutely crucial work to help those more vulnerable in society get the support and guidance they need.
“I am delighted to see the National Lottery funding their ‘Building Resilience’ project. It is designed to assist thousands of families with disabled children by providing a combination of online and in-person support.
“By partnering with various money advice organisations, the initiative will help families manage and overcome the challenges posed by the cost-of-living crisis, thereby improving their quality of life.
“I would encourage anyone who thinks that this might benefit them to get in touch with Contact as soon as possible.”
