Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken out against the decision by specialist investigators that no further action is needed after auditors discovered that £122m was not properly accounted for by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Commenting on the decision to drop the fraud probe, Janet said:

“The fact the counter fraud investigation is not being pursued needs to be examined.

“The public has a right to know what has happened to our taxpayers’ money and how it has been managed by failing managers at the Health Board.

“A copy of the Ernst and Young report should be made public urgently so that there is complete transparency as to what happened to our money.

“Yet again, I am left feeling that the Health Board is getting away with another scandal without serious changes having been implemented to avoid even more trouble.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi siarad yn erbyn penderfyniad ymchwilwyr arbenigol i beidio â chymryd camau pellach ar ôl i archwilwyr ddarganfod na allai Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr gyfrif yn briodol am £122m.

Wrth sôn am y penderfyniad i roi’r gorau i’r ymchwiliad i dwyll, dywedodd Janet:

"Mae angen archwilio'r ffaith nad yw'r ymchwiliad i dwyll yn mynd i gael ei gwblhau.

"Mae gan y cyhoedd hawl i wybod beth sydd wedi digwydd i arian ein trethdalwyr a sut y mae wedi'i reoli gan reolwyr diffygiol yn y Bwrdd Iechyd.

"Dylid cyhoeddi copi o adroddiad Ernst and Young ar unwaith fel bod tryloywder llwyr o ran yr hyn a ddigwyddodd i'n harian ni.

"Unwaith eto, rwy'n teimlo na fydd y Bwrdd Iechyd yn cael ei ddwyn i gyfrif a’i gosbi am sgandal arall ac nad oes newidiadau sylweddol wedi cael eu rhoi ar waith er mwyn osgoi hyd yn oed mwy o drafferthion."
