After numerous approaches about the poor condition of the skatepark in Llandundo, Janet has met with Tallulah Deakin in regarding a new and improved Llandudno skatepark and the possibility of a new mud track on the site too.
The recent petition that was created by Tallula has already reached 300 people, which is a great achievement as it has only been online for one week. The numbers are increasing daily with increasing support on Facebook also.
Concerns have been raised over the skatepark’s current state from residents and users of the park stating it needs a complete revamp due to safety concerns and general wear and tear of the ramps.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Senedd Member for Aberconwy said:
“I had a constructive meeting with the lead campaigner Tallula Highfield and have pledged my 100% support for the revamp of Llandudno skatepark.
Llandudno skatepark has previously been a much used amenity for young people, I would love to see that happen again with an exciting revamp that will attract young people in the area.
With £20 million funding from the scheme, and that kind of investment coming into the town, I would love to see it used on projects like this.
I will be writing to the facilities department at Conwy County Borough Council and Llandudno Town Council to see how we might progress this matter further.”
I am really keen to ensure that this funding is used to support our local residents and businesses. I urge anybody interested in how these funds are spent to contact me at [email protected] to offer any insight on this.”
