Call for Urgent Action on Fly-tipping and Littering/Galw am Weithredu Brys ar Dipio Anghyfreithlon a Thaflu Sbwriel

Fly-tipping is a serious issue blighting each of our communities. ITV Wales reported that there were more than 40,000 fly-tipping incidents in Wales last year, with a clean-up cost of over £2 million.

This is unacceptable. Fly-tipping and littering seriously harm the environment, as waste ends up in our fields, hedges, rivers, seas, and many other places.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, is continuing to call for urgent action to address this serious issue.

Commenting on the fly-tipping figures, Janet said:

“Fly-tipping and littering are serious problems that harm our environment. Without urgent action, this issue will only get worse. I have been calling for tougher stances to be taken towards people who litter and fly-tip. There need to be greater deterrents in place, and a mindset shift is essential.

“However, in doing this, local authorities also have a responsibility to empower people to dispose of their waste properly. This can be achieved through frequent and reliable bin collections, and more communal bins in public areas. For example, whilst there is an army of bins along Llandudno promenade, other sections of the town, and communities across Aberconwy lack such facilities and have seen bins taken away!

“I wish to thank those members of our community who actively volunteer to remove waste. However, it is a genuine shame that they are having to step in”.

Mae tipio anghyfreithlon yn fater difrifol sy'n gwmwl dros bob un o'n cymunedau. Yn ôl ITV Cymru, cafwyd mwy na 40,000 o achosion o dipio anghyfreithlon yng Nghymru y llynedd, gyda chost glanhau o dros £2 filiwn.

Mae hyn yn annerbyniol. Mae tipio anghyfreithlon a thaflu sbwriel yn niweidio'r amgylchedd yn ddifrifol, gan fod gwastraff yn cyrraedd ein caeau, gwrychoedd, afonydd, moroedd a llawer o leoedd eraill.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn parhau i alw am weithredu brys i fynd i'r afael â'r mater difrifol hwn.

Wrth sôn am y ffigurau tipio anghyfreithlon, dywedodd Janet:

"Mae tipio anghyfreithlon a thaflu sbwriel yn broblemau difrifol sy'n niweidio ein hamgylchedd. Heb weithredu brys, bydd y sefyllfa’n mynd o ddrwg i waeth. Rydw i wedi bod yn galw am gymryd camau llymach yn erbyn pobl sy'n taflu sbwriel ac yn tipio’n anghyfreithlon. Mae angen mwy o ataliadau, ac mae newid meddylfryd yn hanfodol.

"Fodd bynnag, wrth wneud hyn, mae gan awdurdodau lleol gyfrifoldeb hefyd i rymuso pobl i waredu eu gwastraff yn iawn. Gellir cyflawni hyn trwy gasgliadau biniau aml a dibynadwy, a mwy o finiau cymunedol mewn mannau cyhoeddus. Er enghraifft, er bod llu o finiau ar hyd promenâd Llandudno, ychydig iawn sydd i’w gweld mewn rhannau eraill o'r dref ac mewn cymunedau ledled Aberconwy, ac mae biniau hyd yn oed wedi cael eu tynnu o rai ardaloedd!

"Hoffwn ddiolch i'r aelodau hynny o'n cymuned sy'n gwirfoddoli i gael gwared ar wastraff. Fodd bynnag, mae'n drueni mawr eu bod yn gorfod camu i’r adwy".
