Conwy County Borough Council are failing to make bus timetables accessible to the general public.
There are many bus stops in Conwy County which have no timetables at all, and some stops which do have timetables show outdated, incorrect ones.
It is important that correct timetables are available at bus stops, as making them available solely online excludes those without access to smartphones, and is unhelpful for tourists.
Speaking on the issue, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, said:
“It is very frustrating that the bus timetables are still either completely missing, or completely wrong.
“Failing to supply printed timetables at bus stops is ageist. Not everybody has access to, or is able to operate, a smartphone. Additionally, with the high number of tourists we see every year here in Aberconwy, it is important that these timetables are also available in printed form.
“The lack of accessible timetables, and presence of incorrect ones, is confusing, frustrating and misleading.
“I have written to Conwy County Borough Council requesting that they urgently provide printed timetables to all operational bus stops to ensure that the correct information is available to public transport users.”
