Building Work on Low Carbon Homes Recommences in Llanrwst / Ailgychwyn Gwaith Adeiladu ar Gartrefi Carbon Isel yn Llanrwst

Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight that building work is to recommence at the old Glanrafon estate in Llanrwst.

The project by Cartrefi Conwy is seeing over £4 million invested to demolish the existing flats, and replace them with 14 three and four bedroom low carbon homes. However, the transformation has not been plain sailing.  The site, now called Rhodfa Phil Evans, has been plagued with delays due to the current challenges affecting the industry.  This has caused the build to exceed its original completion date.

Commenting on the project, Janet said:

“The Rhodfa Phil Evans estate will be a great asset for the area when finished.  The old, 1970’s flats were no longer fit for purpose.  Their replacement with 14 three and four bedroom family homes is an excellent way to help address our current housing shortage here in Aberconwy.

“The project has faced challenges and delays, affecting residents in the town.

“Having raised concerns with Cartrefi Conwy, I am pleased to have been advised that the build is to recommence and is in its final weeks.

“The sooner the building site becomes homes the better, so I am pleased that the Housing Association is pushing forward towards completing their plans.”

ENDS

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi dweud pa mor falch yw hi fod gwaith adeiladu’n ailgychwyn ar hen stad Glanrafon yn Llanrwst.

Mae'r prosiect gan Gartrefi Conwy yn golygu buddsoddi dros £4 miliwn i ddymchwel y fflatiau presennol, a chodi 14 o dai carbon isel tair a phedair llofft yn eu lle. Fodd bynnag, nid yw'r trawsnewid wedi bod yn gwbl ddidrafferth.  Mae'r safle, sef Rhodfa Phil Evans erbyn hyn, wedi profi oedi oherwydd yr heriau presennol sy'n effeithio ar y diwydiant. Mae hyn wedi achosi i'r gwaith adeiladu fynd y tu hwnt i’w ddyddiad cwblhau gwreiddiol.

Wrth roi sylwadau ar y prosiect, dywedodd Janet:

“Bydd stad Rhodfa Phil Evans yn gaffaeliad mawr i'r ardal pan fydd wedi’i chwblhau. Doedd yr hen fflatiau o’r 1970au ddim yn addas i'w diben bellach. Maen nhw wedi’u disodli gyda 14 o gartrefi teuluol tair a phedair llofft, sy’n ffordd wych o helpu i fynd i'r afael â'n prinder tai presennol yma yn Aberconwy.

“Mae'r prosiect wedi wynebu sawl her ac oedi, gan effeithio ar drigolion y dref.

“Ar ôl rhannu pryderon gyda Cartrefi Conwy, rwy'n falch o glywed bod y gwaith adeiladu am ailddechrau a’i fod yn ei wythnosau olaf.

“Gorau po gyntaf y bydd y safle adeiladu’n troi'n gartrefi, felly rwy'n falch fod y Gymdeithas Dai yn bwrw ymlaen i gwblhau eu cynlluniau.”
