Following a series of closures of the Menai Bridge, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, has called a public meeting that will take place this Friday, to discuss the issues of the crossings, and to call for cross-party support for a third Menai Bridge, which Janet has continuously championed in the Senedd chamber.

Elected Officials, from across the political spectrum and Parliaments, have agreed to attend. Including Claire Hughes MP, Llinos Medi MP, Helen Jenner MS, and Mair Rowlands MS.

Since, the maintenance works began over four years ago, Janet has frequently raised the issues posed by the closures of the bridge, that impacted the then constituency of Aberconwy, and affects the whole of North Wales, and transport links to Ireland, and the whole of Bangor Conwy Môn.

Janet commented:

“The Menai crossings are vital to local communities, businesses and the wider North Wales economy, and it is important that we work together to address the ongoing issues people are facing.

“For too long we have seen the damage and congestion, the closures of the crossings cause. A long term plan needs to urgently be put in place.

“I am looking forward to welcoming residents, stakeholders, and other elected officials to the public meeting in Llangefni tomorrow night. “

The meeting will take place on Friday 12th June at Llangefni Town Hall, Bulkeley Square, Llangefni ,Anglesey ,LL77 7LR, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Yn dilyn gorfod cau Pont Menai nifer o weithiau, mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS wedi galw cyfarfod cyhoeddus a fydd yn cael ei gynnal ddydd Gwener yma, i drafod y problemau gyda’r pontydd, ac i alw am gefnogaeth drawsbleidiol i drydedd bont dros y Fenai, rhywbeth y mae Janet wedi dadlau o’i blaid yn barhaus yn siambr y Senedd.

Mae Swyddogion Etholedig, o bob rhan o'r sbectrwm gwleidyddol a'r ddwy Senedd, wedi cytuno i ddod i’r cyfarfod, yn cynnwys Claire Hughes a Llinos Medi, y ddwy’n Aelodau Seneddol yn San Steffan, a Helen Jenner a Mair Rowlands sy’n Aelodau’r Senedd.

Ers i'r gwaith cynnal a chadw ddechrau dros bedair blynedd yn ôl, mae Janet wedi codi'r problemau a ddaw yn sgil cau'r bont, a oedd yn effeithio ar etholaeth Aberconwy ar y pryd, ac sy'n effeithio ar Ogledd Cymru gyfan, a chysylltiadau trafnidiaeth ag Iwerddon, ac etholaeth gyfan Bangor Conwy Môn.

Dywedodd Janet:

"Mae’r pontydd dros y Fenai yn hanfodol i gymunedau a busnesau lleol ac economi ehangach y Gogledd, ac mae'n bwysig ein bod yn gweithio gyda'n gilydd i fynd i'r afael â'r problemau parhaus y mae pobl yn eu hwynebu.

"Am rhy hir rydyn ni wedi gweld y difrod a'r tagfeydd y mae cau’r pontydd yn ei achosi. Mae angen cyflwyno cynllun tymor hir ar frys.

"Rwy'n edrych ymlaen at groesawu trigolion, rhanddeiliaid, a swyddogion etholedig eraill i'r cyfarfod cyhoeddus yn Llangefni nos yfory. "

Cynhelir y cyfarfod nos Wener 12 Mehefin yn Neuadd y Dref Llangefni, Sgwâr Bulkeley, Llangefni, Ynys Môn, LL77 7LR, rhwng 6:00pm ac 8:00pm.
