With Station Road, Deganwy, closed to all traffic between 2 September 2025 and 21 November 2025, Arriva Wales have diverted all bus services via Llanrhos.

Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, acting on behalf of residents, has made formal requests for urgent consideration to be given to providing shuttle services to transport public transport users from central Deganwy to the buses running along the diversion route

The bus services affected are 5D, 13, 15, and 24.

Responding, Arriva Buses Wales have stated today (4 September 2025):

“We are looking at options that we believe are practical for the residents and our customers in Deganwy.  Initially we believe we could alter the diversion, to serve Rockfield drive and Hawes drive, in both directions which would mean that the northern area of Deganwy would receive a service.

“We are also in the process of risk assessing other alternatives, as you have alluded to it is a very inconvenient road closure, myself and the network team will provide any further updates as soon as we have them. If in the meantime you require anything, please do let me know.”

Commenting, Janet said:

“I thank Arriva Buses Wales for their prompt responses to my correspondence, and for the steps they’re now taking to try and ensure that residents in central Deganwy can more easily access services.

“There is no doubt that adequate public transport arrangements should have been made before the road was closed, but I am pleased, for now at least, that following my intervention, urgent steps are being taken to Arriva to try and address the serious concerns raised”.
