Anger over Road Access to Llandudno

Llandudno

Conwy County Borough Council has been criticised for allowing a situation to arise where Llandudno has been reduced to only one principal access road free of disruption.

There are three principal highways leading in and out of Llandudno:

-          A470 – no road works

-          A546 – closed in Deganwy

-          B5115 – temporary traffic lights by the Lifeboat Station

Commenting on access to Llandudno, Janet said:

“At a time when the A546 is closed and more are travelling to and from the town on the A470 and B5115, it appears as seriously poor decision making to allow temporary traffic lights to be put on the B5115.

“This morning, drivers were queuing to the Lifeboat Station from the top of the Little Orme on the B5115, and from Black Cat to Marl Hall on the A470.

“When one of the three main roads into town closes, there is increased traffic on the other two. The Local Authority and Trunk Road Agency know this, and as such, should ensure that there is no planned obstruction on the two other routes”.
