AC Aberconwy yn ychwanegu at y galwadau i’r Eisteddfod Genedlaethol ddychwelyd i Lanrwst yn 2019 / Aberconwy AM adds to the calls for the National Eisteddfod to return to Llanrwst in 2019

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders AC wedi ysgrifennu at Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru er mwyn ategu galwadau lu ei hetholwyr a Mr Rosslyn Morgan, Clerc Cyngor Tref Llanrwst, ar ran yr aelodau etholedig. Mae hyn yn sgil y ffaith y bydd y Brifwyl yn dod i Sir Conwy yn 2019, er nad ydyn nhw wedi penderfynu’n bendant rhwng Abergele neu Lanrwst fel yr union leoliad eto.

Janet Finch-Saunders AM has written to the National Eisteddfod, adding her support to the calls made by numerous constituents and by Mr Rosslyn Morgan, Clerk to Llanrwst Town Council, on behalf of its elected members. This is in light of the fact whilst the Eisteddfod will be coming to Conwy in 2019, it has not been decided whether it will be hosted by Abergele or Llanrwst.

Meddai Janet:

“Fel llawer o drigolion y sir, rwyf yn falch iawn bod yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn dychwelyd yma yn 2019. Yn ogystal â rhoi hwb aruthrol i’r economi gyda thros 150,000 yn mynychu’r brifwyl, yn bwysicach fyth, mae’n fraint i’r sir gynnal y dathliad gorau o’n hiaith a’n diwylliant ni.

“Fy ngobaith i yw y bydd yr ŵyl gynhwysol hon yn dod i Lanrwst yn 2019.

“Fel y soniais yn fy llythyr, mae gan dref hanesyddol Llanrwst a Dyffryn Conwy y seilwaith, ac yn bwysicach fyth, frwdfrydedd anhygoel a diguro ymysg yr hen a’r ifanc tuag at eisteddfodau.

“Cofiwch fod eisteddfodau yn dal i ffynnu yn Llanrwst a’r cylch. Er enghraifft, mae gennym Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Dyffryn Conwy Llanrwst, Eisteddfod Melin y Coed, ac Eisteddfod Ysgol Uwchradd Dyffryn Conwy. Ar ben hynny, daeth cant a mwy o unigolion yr ardal at ei gilydd i ffurfio CoRwst: côr a wnaeth gryn argraff yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol ym Môn eleni!

“Rwy’n gobeithio y bydd galwadau fy etholwyr, a’r llythyrau a anfonwyd gan Gyngor Tref Llanrwst, a minnau, yn helpu i gyfrannu at y penderfyniad cywir maes o law: bod Llanrwst a Dyffryn Conwy yn cael y fraint a’r anrhydedd o gynnal yr Eisteddfod”.

Janet said:

“Like many across the county, I am delighted that the National Eisteddfod will be returning here in 2019. In addition to being a brilliant boost to the economy with over 150,000 frequenting the festival, it is, most importantly, an honour for the county to host the greatest celebration of the culture and language of Wales.

“It is my hope that this inclusive festival will return to Llanrwst in 2019.

“As I have shown in my letter, the historic town and the Conwy Valley has the infrastructure, and most importantly and incredible and unrivalled passion amongst all ages for Eisteddfodau.

“One only has to consider the fact that Eisteddfodau are thriving in Llanrwst and the surrounding area already. For example, we have Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Dyffryn Conwy Llanrwst, Eisteddfod Melin y Coed, and Eisteddfod Ysgol Uwchradd Dyffryn Conwy. More so, over 100 individuals living in the area came together to form CoRwst: a choir which made quite an impression at the National Eisteddfod this year!

“I hope that the calls of my constituents, and the letters submitted by Llanrwst Town Council, and myself, will help contribute to what I hold to be the right decision: to give Llanrwst and the Conwy Valley the honour of hosting the Eisteddfod”.
