Having recently delivered a keynote speech at the Soroptimist conference in the St George’s Hotel, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has taken part in the Llandudno Soroptimist’s annual walk to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The Soroptimists are an international organisation of over 72,000 members who work to educate, empower, and enable opportunities for women and girls globally.
Commenting after the walk, Janet said:
“It was a privilege to join the Llandudno Soroptimists on their walk down the Promenade from the Cenotaph to Venue Cymru before returning to the Imperial Hotel.
“The level of support which the organisation received from members of the public was truly touching and highlights the important message and mission of this organisation.
“Additionally, it was fitting that throughout this walk banners were held in support of the Ukrainian people as the world continues to denounce Putin’s war of aggression.
“I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my thanks to the Soroptimists for inviting me to attend this event and would encourage women and girls across our community to support this organisation and its important work globally.”
