The Shadow Minister for Climate Change attended a cycle trip with Sustrans on Friday the 18th of March to discuss ways in which active travel from Llandudno Junction to Glan Conwy could be improved. In line with her long standing to commitment to supporting this route, Janet sought to demonstrate the importance of the coastal cycle route by meeting with the Director of Sustrans Cymru, Christian Boston and Network Development and Partnerships Manager for North & Mid Wales Gwen Thomas.

Commenting on the trip, the Shadow Minister said:

“Improving travel to and from Llandudno Junction has been a long-standing commitment of mine and it was a pleasure to meet with Christian Boston and Gwen Thomas to explore other ways in which we can promote active methods of traveling around the North Wales Coast.”

Janet Finch-Saunders has remained vocal about the Welsh Governments slow action on connectivity in Wales and has urged ministers to take the matter more seriously as the nation seeks to recover from the pandemic and return to normal levels of inter-city travel.

The Shadow Minister went on to add:

“Incorporating environmentally friendly and efficient travel in climate action policy is common practice in many other countries and should set an example for the Welsh Government. It’s disappointing and disheartening for my constituents to continue to feel as if they are constantly being left out of the fold. My work will continue to change this.”
