Aberconwy MS criticises Welsh government for slow progress on flexible working at Llandudno Junction building

Having previously raised the under use of the Welsh Government building in Llandudno Junction, as well as having written to the First Minister highlighting that local businesses are interested in utilising the building, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has criticised the Welsh Government’s lack of progress.

Commenting on the issue Janet said:

“Having previously highlighted the under use of this large and expensive building by the Welsh Government, I was hopeful that the First Minister would take my recommendations on board and create a flexible working hub.

“Unfortunately, as seen today in First Minister’s questions, the Welsh Government is more interested in trying to score political points against the UK Government and pull up excuses for their slow progress.

“While I appreciate the potential complexities of creating a flexible working hub it is truly disappointing to hear of no progress being made on this matter since I originally raised this issue many months ago.

“I would urge the Welsh Government to commit to creating a working hub in the Llandudno Junction building as soon as possible.”

Ar ôl codi'r mater o danddefnyddio adeilad Llywodraeth Cymru yng Nghyffordd Llandudno o'r blaen, yn ogystal ag ysgrifennu at y Prif Weinidog yn tynnu sylw at y ffaith bod gan fusnesau lleol ddiddordeb mewn defnyddio'r adeilad, mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS Aberconwy wedi beirniadu diffyg cynnydd Llywodraeth Cymru.

Wrth sôn am y mater, dywedodd Janet:

“Ar ôl tynnu sylw o'r blaen at y ffaith nad oedd digon o ddefnydd yn cael ei wneud o'r adeilad mawr a drud hwn gan Lywodraeth Cymru, roeddwn i'n gobeithio y byddai'r Prif Weinidog yn ystyried fy argymhellion a chreu canolfan gweithio'n hyblyg.

“Yn anffodus, fel y gwelir heddiw yng nghwestiynau'r Prif Weinidog, mae gan Lywodraeth Cymru fwy o ddiddordeb mewn ceisio sgorio pwyntiau gwleidyddol yn erbyn Llywodraeth y DU a chreu esgusodion am eu cynnydd araf.

“Er fy mod i'n gwerthfawrogi cymhlethdodau posibl creu canolfan gweithio hyblyg, mae'n wirioneddol siomedig clywed na fu unrhyw gynnydd gwirioneddol ers i mi godi'r mater hwn yn wreiddiol fisoedd lawer yn ôl.

“Byddwn yn annog Llywodraeth Cymru i ymrwymo i greu canolfan neu hyb gweithio hyblyg yn adeilad Cyffordd Llandudno cyn gynted â phosibl.”
