Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, is delighted to have met with North Wales Training as they celebrate 40 years of helping learners to succeed.

North Wales Training was established in 1983. At a time of record high unemployment a group of local business leaders came together. Their vision was to create an organisation that would enable young people to develop the future skills they needed to obtain work and forge successful careers, while benefiting the community.

Four decades on, North Wales Training remains committed to helping people gain skills and qualifications for employability, so that they are equipped for productive, sustainable and fulfilling employment in a modern economy.

Commenting after visiting the organisation’s new premises, Ty COPA, Argyll Road, Llandudno, Janet said:

“The team at North Wales Training have made a monumental contribution to the economy and wellbeing of people across the region.

“For forty years the organisation has been empowering young people to develop skills and find work.

“Every year they help hundreds of individuals in North Wales to take the next steps in their career. Support ranges from apprenticeships in business administration to delivering the £2.9 billion UK Government Restart scheme that gives Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for over 12 months enhanced support to find jobs.

“I wish North Wales Training continued success in helping learners to succeed, improve their lives, and boost our economy”.
