Restore Llandudno Beach

Since 2014 Janet Finch Saunders has been campaigning to get the North Shore Beach returned to it's former glory.

After quarry rocks were dumped on the once beautiful sandy beach as part of flood prevention works there has been a constant campaign to restore the beach, and remove the debris and sea life caught in the rocks. The once sandy play paradise has been lost, and Llandudno is suffering.

Hundreds of hotels, guest houses and the diverse and vibrant high street are all linked to the continued success of Llandudno as a tourist location. Sand has been deemed as a suitable sea defence on both Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay beaches, but we are yet to see the same protection for our community from coastal erosion. Llandudno plays a crucial role in the national tourism sector, with day visitor numbers potentially increasing from 2.88 million in 2018 to over 4 million by 2045. The restoration of a sandy beach at North Shore is vital to help the community thrive.

All those that visit can see positives of using sand to protect Llandudno while simultaneously supporting the local economy. Janet is committed to exploring all possible opportunities which will see a sandy beach returned to the North Shore.

If you agree that North Shore Beach should be restored to the sandy paradise it once was. please sign my petition below.
